When I started this blog and started to think about which women I could interview, I realised that there were several inspirational women in my immediate family. So today I’m interviewing one of my sisters, Suzanne Perazzini.
Suzanne is a certified nutritional therapist specialising in IBS and the low Fodmap diet,
qualified teacher, award-winning author and fulltime low Fodmap diet coach. She has been featured on numerous podcasts, has had articles on several large health websites and had many of her recipes published in hard copy magazines.
Suzanne talks about her varied career from working in a restaurant when she was at university, teaching English as a second language in Italy and New Zealand, working in the real estate industry, to setting up her own very successful online business.
Suzanne also talks about the various obstacles she has faced during her working life, including a married employer who proposed that she become his mistress, and when she refused his offer, claimed that she must be a lesbian and continued to refer to her as a lesbian.
Suzanne points out how difficult it can be for women to stand up for themselves and “make a fuss” as many of us have taught from birth not to do that. We discuss the need for strong woman in every family so that young men and women see that it is normal for women to be strong. Suzanne also points out how important it is that women unite against sexism.
Suzanne’s website features low Fodmap recipes, videos and articles on IBS and the diet.
